Lady Buddha and Linh Ung Pagoda on Son Tra Peninsula
Visit the 67-meter Lady Buddha statue, explore Linh Ung Pagoda grounds, and enjoy panoramic views over Da Nang Bay.
By VietnamRanker·
Rising from forested Son Tra Peninsula, the white Lady Buddha (Quan Am) watches over fishermen and container ships alike — a serene counterpoint to Da Nang's busy beaches.
The Lady Buddha Statue
At 67 meters tall, the statue is among Vietnam's largest. It faces the sea as if blessing vessels below. The interior has limited public access — the exterior and plaza are the main draw.
Linh Ung Pagoda Complex
Multiple halls, gardens, and smaller Buddha images surround the main statue. Dress modestly, remove hats in prayer halls, and speak softly near meditating visitors.
Views Over Da Nang Bay
On clear days you see the entire bay curve from My Khe to the Han River mouth. Late afternoon light softens the haze — bring a zoom lens for cityscape photos.
Wildlife on Son Tra
Son Tra is a nature reserve for the endangered red-shanked douc. Drive slowly, never feed monkeys on the road, and stay on marked paths.
How to Get There
Motorbike or car via Vo Nguyen Giap then uphill loops. Grab works but arranging return pickup avoids sparse taxi availability at dusk.
Combine with a Peninsula Day
Pair the pagoda with Bai But Beach, intercontinental resort viewpoints, and seafood lunch on the peninsula before descending for Dragon Bridge at night.
